I believe it's technically possible to add background-position-x and background-position-y, and you gave a good use case, but it hasn't made enough people enthusiastic. It seems a rather isolated use case and a rather minor pain to have to specify the same x-coordinate three times. Not enough to add two new properties for. Unless there is more evidence of its usefulness, I vote against adding those properties. > > Please mark that e-mail as a possible issue and handle it > appropriately before moving to the next draft. I seem to remember that the WG already rejected the issue once, but I can't find the minutes... Anyway, so marked. > [1]<http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/www-style/2005Apr/0126> > [2]<http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/www-style/2004Aug/0181> > <http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/www-style/2004Aug/0185> Bert -- Bert Bos ( W 3 C ) http://www.w3.org/ http://www.w3.org/people/bos W3C/ERCIM bert@w3.org 2004 Rt des Lucioles / BP 93 +33 (0)4 92 38 76 92 06902 Sophia Antipolis Cedex, France
