Just before Christmas, the CSS working group managed to publish another draft, the "CSS TV Profile 1.0"[1]. It is by now already two weeks old, but since I went on holiday that day, I forgot to announce it here :-( Anyway, this is a small draft, containing a "profile" of CSS2 for television, i.e., a subset of features from CSS2 to provide a common base for all implementations of CSS on (digital) TV devices. It is, in fact, very similar to the profile for mobile devices[2]: it contains everything that one has, and a few things more. That reflects the fact that televisons are a little less constrained in resources than mobile devices. It is expected that this draft won't be long in following the Mobile Profile and become a Candidate Recommendation. Maybe two or three months, with just one more draft in between. But it depends on the feedback, of course...
