Examples in http://www.w3.org/TR/css3-fonts/

This comment may have been made before, but why are upper-case tags used
as examples in http://www.w3.org/TR/css3-fonts/ ?  As XHTML is clearly
the new orthodoxy, I would imagine that it to use it in the examples
would make a lot of sense.
