Looking quickly, I think that removing these two rules will make the CSS2 Recommendation legible for Macintosh IE4 and NS4 users. /* UL.toc, OL.toc {list-style: none} */ /* UL.index {list-style: none} */ In IE4.0a, the cover page is blank after one screen; the index has gaps of whitespace (no problems on any other pages). In NS4.05, every list item is a question mark. Here are two quick screen shots in case they might help. http://www.macvirus.com/test/ss/w3c/IE4-NS4-Mac-cover.gif http://www.macvirus.com/test/ss/w3c/IE4-NS4-Mac-index.gif That aside, congratulations to everyone on the core styles, validator, test suite, and recommendation!
