It uses SMIL 2.0 for its SDK playlist programming. For more information, see http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/wmsrvsdk/htm/programmingplaylists.asp For this, they seem to have made their own basic subset of the SMIL 2.0 Language Profile.
