The SMIL 2.0 spec already ended the Last Call period on 20 October 2000,  in its preceding version available at  
http://www.w3.org/TR/2000/WD-smil20-20000921/

Current public WD is now
http://www.w3.org/TR/2001/WD-smil20-20010301/


We should release a CR version soon, which will not include the XHTML+SMIL profile.
This profile will follow a different track and needs to go through Last Call.

  I was wondering if anyone knows the intended duration of the last call period 
  for the 1st March 2001 WD of SMIL 2.0. I was unable to locate a statement as 
  to the duration of the last call period in the part of the WD where I would 
  typically expect to find it. 

  I also noticed that mention is made of the XHTML + SMIL profile. Does 
  progress of SMIL 2.0 to CR, depend on further progress on XHTML+SMIL?
