SMIL and IE5.5 Bug

Hello 

I installed IE5.5 to use SMIL and lost all audio via WAV (MIDI still works). 
I then tried it on another (a second) PC and the exact same thing happened: 
all sound via WAV dead. This two machines have now lost all sound via WAV 
playing.

All I can determine is that IE5.5 only works fully on North American 
computers.
