All: I am pleased to announce the publication of the Last Call working draft of the SMIL 2.0 specification, entitled "Synchronized Multimedia Integration Language (SMIL 2.0) Specification", dated September 21, 2000, and available at: http://www.w3.org/TR/2000/WD-smil20-20000921/ The decision to advance to last call is recorded in the minutes from our September face2face: http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Member/symm/2000Sep/0295.html (members only) The last call period will begin immediately and will end October 20, 2000 0:00 GMT. This is a last call review period of approximately 4 weeks. Last call comments should be sent to www-smil@w3.org. We encourage review and feedback from the entire Web community. In addition, we have specifically requested that the following groups and their chairs allocate resources and time to reviewing SMIL 2.0: 1. CSS WG, Chris Lilley - concentrate on SMIL 2.0 layout and the use of aspects of CSS in SMIL 2.0. 2. SVG WG, Chris Lilley - review SMIL 2.0 Animation and the relationship to SVG's animation. 3. XHTML WG, Steven Pemberton - review modularization, use of HTML constructs in various modules. 4. WAI WG, Judy Brewer, Daniel Dardailler - review language profiles and applicable modules addressing accessibility issues. 5. I18N WG, Misha Wolf, Martin Duerst - review language profiles and applicable modules addressing internationalization issues. 6. DOM WG, Lauren Wood - review timing, animation, and language profile API and event handling. 7.
