URI Representation

Hi.. all

i have some confusion about URI representation of Windows file

for example,  there is a file with path name as "C:\w3c\smil\sample.gif",

which is a standard(?) 
    A:    file:///C:/w3c/smil/sample.gif
or
    B:    file:///C|/w3c/smil/sample.gif

which character can i use for express drive ( : ) ?   colon or vertical bar?

there's any standard ?


is this a stupid question? ^^; sorry and Thanks for reading...
