Hello Allow to introduce myself, I followed the news for a long time. We have built an SMIL Environment, consisting of the following: Satelite TV for Input VCR for Input RealServer vision.aart.ch on LINUX RealEncoder on an NT 4.0 Dual Pentium MPEG Encoder on a Windows '95 Pentium II with 256 MB RAM Several viewers (RealPlayer, G2, WebTV, GRINS) Fast Ethernet AART-Net ISP (owned by Ideen Werft22 GmbH) What I right now cannot understand: the real difference between an *.rm and an *.mpg file, on the file-format definition level. I hope, and would like to work on, SMIL goes beyond that difference, the future author will need *objected-formats*, where there will be sound-objects and animation-objetcs, video will be understood as animation, and so on, and back, sound-objects will consist of instrument-objects. Maybe SMIL is already there, then I'd like to learn to know where the information is located, I need to succeed within my own learning process.
