* Elin K. Jacob <ejacob@indiana.edu> [2012-12-04 01:22-0500] > In the metadata class that I teach, I have students complete a final project that involves creating a metadata schema for a domain of their choice as well as a set of records using their schema elements. I usually require that all of their rdf statements be validated using the W3C RDF Validation Service. I have found that it is very instructive for them to use the validator to check their syntax and to verify their semantics using the graph -- figuring out what is wrong when something doesn't validate is an excellent (tho sometimes frustrating) learning experience. > > Their projects will be due in a week and the validator has not been available for several days now -- I have gotten the message "The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to maintenance downtime or capacity problems. Please try again later" every time I have attempted to validate something. The server performing validation was inded down for a from Friday (I believe) until Tuesday (it was reported on Monday afternoon). http://www.w3.org/RDF/Validator/ should be working now. Could you confirm that you still see the problem? Thank you for teaching RDF to your students! > Can you tell me if/when the validator will be available so that I can pass this information on to my students? > > Thank you, > > elin > > Elin K.
