In the metadata class that I teach, I have students complete a final project that involves creating a metadata schema for a domain of their choice as well as a set of records using their schema elements. I usually require that all of their rdf statements be validated using the W3C RDF Validation Service. I have found that it is very instructive for them to use the validator to check their syntax and to verify their semantics using the graph -- figuring out what is wrong when something doesn't validate is an excellent (tho sometimes frustrating) learning experience. Their projects will be due in a week and the validator has not been available for several days now -- I have gotten the message "The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to maintenance downtime or capacity problems. Please try again later" every time I have attempted to validate something. Can you tell me if/when the validator will be available so that I can pass this information on to my students?
