The research I am doing regards a matchmaker agent for web services and is part of my undergraduate thesis. A similar project is being done at: http://www.daml.ri.cmu.edu/ and more info at http://www-2.cs.cmu.edu/~softagents/matchmaker.html My idea is to experiment with this new idea of the semantic web and eventually try to highlight the main advantages that it can bring about to an environment such as that of web services. As the matchmaker’s communication language I am planning to use KQML with DAML as the content language (there are planned to be also other types of agents that act as service providers and requesters). I want also to use DAML-S for the advertisement and request of web services. Hence the agents must be able to “understand” DAML-S. An inference module is planned to be incorporated in the matchmaker. Now this is a lot of work, I know, and the task is not the least trivial. I am trying to evaluate all the work involved and come up with a plan. So my initial work regards the possibility of utilizing existing DAML APIs for the project. And so far, these do not extend to daml-s. Any comments and questions from you people are welcome. Charlie
