The position is funded by the University of Fribourg and is opened since the beginning of 2005, for a maximum duration of 5 years. It is a good opportunity for PhD graduates interested in an academic or research carrier. The candidate will be a member of the PAI (Pervasive and Artificial Intelligence) Research Group, where he/she will involved both in teaching and research activities. A fluent ability to speak in french or german is required. Teaching activities will be partly linked to fundamental courses of the Bachelor cursus in Computer Science of the University of Fribourg, and to specialized Master courses related to the PAI group research interests. Research activities will be conducted inside the COPE <http://diuf.unifr.ch/pai/research/> project and address one of the following research topics: * Human-Computer Interaction (e.g. augmented reality, tangibles interfaces, ubiquitous computing, wireless communication), * Intelligent and adaptive distributed systems (e.g. coordination, collective intelligence, agent systems, software composition and discovery,...) * Pervasive Computing (e.g. middleware, context-aware computing, intelligent systems dialogue management,...) * Autonomous robotics and Sensor Networks (e.g. collective robotics, human robot interaction, adaptive robotics, immobots,...) The candidate will also be involved in the supervision of one PhD student and of Master student works in his/her research domain. Research Environment: The Pervasive and Artificial Intelligence (PAI) Research Group in the Department of Informatics of the University of Fribourg is a very dynamic and highly innovative research unit conducting research in the following areas: * context-aware computing, pervasive and mobile computing, middlewares, * coordination models and languages, agent systems, adaptable software, * autonomous robotics, adaptive systems, neural networks, evolutionary design, * artificial intelligence, cognitive engineering, human-machine interaction, * augmented reality interfaces, haptic interfaces.
