I've just published some design notes [1] I've been working on for
implementing datatype-aware RDF inference in my Swish framework [2].

[1] http://www.ninebynine.org/RDFNotes/RDF-Datatype-inference.html

[2] http://www.ninebynine.org/Software/swish-0.1.html

Among other things, the notes include discussion of:

- a brief survey of some existing systems and proposals
- existing inference mechanisms in Swish
- some choices for defining datatype inference in Swish
- a selected proposal for implementing datatype inference in Swish
- some test cases

The focus here is on ways to embed inference processes into an
RDF-application, rather than specific details of inference algorithms,
techniques, etc.
