Semantic Web opening at Carnegie Mellon University's Mobile Commerce Lab

JOB OPENING

The Mobile Commerce Lab at Carnegie Mellon University has an opening for a 
project leader.
The successful candidate will work on the myCampus project, a semantic Web 
environment
for mobile access to context-aware applications and services. A primary 
focus of our project
is to develop technologies that reconcile context awareness and privacy.
This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the research agenda of a key 
research project
in the School of Computer Science at Carnegie Mellon.

The ideal candidate will have a PhD in Computer Science and will have 
strong written
and verbal communication skills along with extensive programming experience.

The position requires familiarity with at least three of the following 
research areas:
* Semantic Web technologies
* Intelligent Agents
* Context Awareness
* Web Services

Exposure to case-based reasoning or other learning techniques and/or 
interest in privacy
and security issues would be a major plus.

The initial appointment is for one year with option of renewal for one or 
more years.
The start date is negotiable and can be anytime during the Fall of 2003.
