This is an important piece of work; folk working on formalisms for RDF, RDF query, logic etc would do well to take a look. Please use the feedback addresses below if you have comments on the draft. I'm sending this to both www-rdf-interest and www-rdf-logic, despite my generally discouraging folk from cross-posting, because it is important that we make sure everyone in the community has a chance to review this XML spec. I'm happy with followup discussions staying cross-posted too, though if they (for whatever reason) get side-tracked into hardcore logic stuff, you might consider dropping www-rdf-interest from the cc: list. Dan ---------- Forwarded message ---------- Date: Mon, 27 Aug 2001 15:06:13 -0400 From: Massimo Marchiori <massimo@w3.org> To: www-webdav-dasl@w3.org Cc: massimo@w3.org Subject: ANNOUNCEMENT: NEW XML-Query/Xpath Draft on Functions and Operators Resent-Date: Mon, 27 Aug 2001 15:06:15 -0400 (EDT) Resent-From: www-webdav-dasl@w3.org [apologies for multiple postings] W3C's XML Query Working Group, in conjunction with the W3C XSL wg, has just published a brand NEW draft: "XQuery 1.0 and XPath 2.0 Functions and Operators Version 1.0" (http://www.w3.org/TR/xquery-operators ) This document defines basic operators and functions on the datatypes defined in [XML Schema Part 2: Datatypes] for use in XQuery, XPath and other related XML standards. It also discusses operators and functions on nodes and node sequences as defined in the [XQuery 1.0 and XPath 2.0 Data Model] for use in XQuery, XPath and other related XML standards. General discussion on the draft should be addressed to the www-ql@w3.org mailing list (archives at http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/www-ql/ ). Comments and feedback on the draft solely addressed to the working group should instead be sent at www-xml-query-comments@w3.org (archives at http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/www-xml-query-comments/ ). Latest versions always available from the XML Query page (http://www.w3.org/XML/Query ), also containing an explanation of the above mailing lists. -Massimo /---------------------------------------------------------------\ | Massimo Marchiori | | The World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) Tel: + 1 617 4523757 | | MIT Laboratory for Computer Science Fax: + 1 617 2585999 | | University of Venice Tel: +39 041 2908423 | | WWW: http://w3.org/People/Massimo Fax: +39 041 2908419 | | Email: massimo@w3.org | \---------------------------------------------------------------/
