Open Ph.D. Position Knowledge Portals in the Semantic Web Research Group Knowledge Management Institute AIFB, University of Karlsruhe, Germany http://www.aifb.uni-karlsruhe.de/WBS AIFB is one of the world-wide leading institutes in Creating the Semantic Web, the next step in the evolution of the World Wide Web. Thereby we work in an interdisciplinary team including computer scientists, mathematicians, industrial engineers and information scientists. Starting May 1st, we have an open position for a researcher working towards a Ph.D. in the area of semantics-based knowledge portals. The position is situated within the OntoWeb thematic network, a European Union-funded project for putting the Semantic Web into practice. It serves as a platform for knowledge exchange including more than 50 research institutes and companies from all over the world. Salary is according to German BAT IIa, which is about 35,000 Euro p.a. varying slightly depending on age and marital status. Deadline for applications is June 1st, but we will consider applications until the position is filled and due to the overwhelming interest in the Semantic Web, new projects and new positions come up frequently in our department.
