Oh! I'm pretty certain that I read it somewhere, and when I've
mentioned it to other people they say, "yeah, I know". I guess the
morale of the story is to not trust everything that you read, or are
told, unless it's in an RFC :-)

So a "mid:" is a perfectly stable and persistent URI? That's useful.
