Re: FW: XSD

Hi Mark,

The output seems to be just an RDF translation of the XML input in
ArtStor's own format. Shouldn't we be translating to your VRA[1] schema
as we go? I thought that ArtStor was supposed to be an example of VRA data.

In looking through the translated data, it appears tht the ArtStor data
has a very different interpretation of some of the VRA fields. The
first thing I noticed was that ArtStor's creation_date doesn't map well
to VRA's dateCreated which in VRA I interpreted as the creation of the
original work, whereas ArtStor seems to use the creation of the ArtStor
record, which would map to something like dateCurrentAccession if VRA
had such a field.

Also the URL's in the translated data are somewhat worrying to me. I
haven't seen the original data, but using IP addresses (204.153.51.101)
instead of domain names makes it impossible to move the data, and using
unqualified hostnames (artstor16) for object identifiers seems to
violate the underlying need for federated naming in order to avoid
naming conflicts.

Otherwise, the XSLT seems quite legible. Can you forward a link the the
template processor you are using?

Thanks,
-kls
