via http://planetrdf.com/ http://dannyayers.com/2006/06/30/timelines-and-spacelines ... http://simile.mit.edu/timeline/ "Timeline is a DHTML-based AJAXy widget for visualizing time-based events. It is like Google Maps for time-based information." I posted notice of a similar effort for maps/geo, Open Layers, to semantic-web@w3.org yesterday, http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/semantic-web/2006Jun/0126.html (ie. a bit like Google Maps but opensource and standards-friendly). I'd love to see this wired up to RDF-calendar and iCal data. http://simile.mit.edu/timeline/docs/create-timelines.html shows the XML notation they're currently using: http://simile.mit.edu/timeline/docs/example1.xml The page on 'event sources' 404s at moment, but http://simile.mit.edu/timeline/api/scripts/sources.js looks pretty simple, could be rewired to consume JSON SPARQL results perhaps, along lines of http://torrez.us/archives/2006/02/24/418/ ... Wonder how well Timeline and Open Layers play together... perhaps a good combo for historical geo-tagged data? Dan
