I'm not sure where I stand on this issue - iCal may have syntactic problems, but calendar/scheduling information can become complex, forcing the data representations to account for that.. the protocols are where I feel simplification will be more beneficial. As an aside - and I'm only half-joking here - time zones are part of the problem; time zones were invented to solve problems during the era of steam railroads; is it time for the world to revisit time zones as a concept?
