Dear standard advocates, QA IG participants. There has been quite a lot of activity in W3C QA software recently, so here is a quick roundup of the news: - The Markup Validator was upgraded at the beginning of August. Since that caused a bit of load on the server, a mirror has been added, and now validator.w3.org is served from two different servers. W3C Markup Validator: http://validator.w3.org Markup Validator 0.7.0 Announcement: http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/www-validator/2005Aug/0025 - The Log Validator has been upgraded, too, and now sports a link checker module. For those not familiar with the Log Validator, it's a tool that can batch process a (large) number of documents through a variety of QA tools. If processing from your server's logs, it can point you to the most popular document which need being worked on. W3C Log Validator: http://www.w3.org/QA/Tools/LogValidator/ Log Validator 1.0 Announcement: http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/www-validator/2005Sep/0029 - The CSS validator has been updated, thanks to some fantastic work by Jean-Guilhem Rouel. The SOAP interface is now stable, a CSS2.1 profile has been added, and 62 (!) bugs were fixed in the past couple of months. W3C CSS Validator: http://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/ CSS Validator update Announcement: http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/www-validator-css/2005Sep/0014 If you are interested in following the news in QA publications or software releases, they are all featured on the QA Home Page: http://www.w3.org/QA . And there is an RSS version of the QA news for the users of feed readers.
