Hi, Karl,
the motive was to match the WAI. I remember Ian recommended us to adopt
this numbering format.
Why do you think it leads to confusion? Wouldn't it be better to keep
the same way of numbering for everything?

Subject: Issue Letters of Conformance
I would like to raise the issue of wordings for the conformance Level
in the Spec.
Right now, we have A, AA, AAA for the levels for Conformance which
could lead to confusion with WAI levels of Conformance. I suggest we
change it for another letter, and not the Q, that will create another
problem :) in french.
