Dom, Here is a stab at a general definition of deprecated for the definitions section of SpecGL. Deprecated: An existing feature that has become outdated by a newer construct or is no longer viable. Deprecated features should not be used and may be removed in some future version. The existing definition that exists with in the document is where is should be in Guideline 7. So far no spec has explicitly removed any features but a few (html4.0 and xhtml2.0 for example) threaten to do so at some point in the future. If we feel we need to define removed to (specs seem to use removed over withdrawn, at least in the examples I found) it would be something like: Removed: A feature that has been previously deprecated and is now explicitly no longer supported.
