RE: collecting comments on use cases

Some (very first) comments from my side:

 

General

The use cases are still a bit raw. In most of the cases, I have the impression that there is simply the idea but nothing special in mind. However, this is OK to get started.

 

I suggest to come up with a scenario description for each use case that illustrates the targeted behavior. This is done, for, e.g., UC 1 but is missing for UC 2. This would clearly help to get a clearer picture of it. Otherwise, I see the danger that the use cases tend to become to general.

 

Just as another thought:

Does it make sense to add another category for the involved standards? Some use cases already mention them while others don’t.

 

UC 1

I am not sure how much multi-modality is in this use case. It is easy to get, but I do not see much MMI work in this use case.

 

UC 2

I like the idea, but it is far to general right now.

 

UC 3

Again too general. I fell that each item in description/abstract describes an individual use case

 

UC 4 and UC 5

I don’t get the idea how this turns into a use case beyond an implementation of an MC.

 

UC 6

This is a nice one. However, I miss some idea how “any kind of modalities” can be used.

 

UC 7

This may be enhanced by one of the use cases described in UC 3. Please feel free to add content from one of my more recent publications at the past SCXML workshop http://scxmlworkshop.de/eics2015/submissions/Multimodal%20Dialog%20Management%20in%20a%20Smart%20Home%20Context%20with%20SCXML.pdf

I would be willing to contribute to this use case if this helps.

 

UC 8

I did not get the idea behind this use case. Maybe, a user story as mentioned above would help to understand it better.

 

UC 9

Capturing of images from multiple cameras is clear, what is the goal behind it?

 

UC 10

Seems to be a copy of UC 9 with another title.

 

UC 11

Another MC? What is the goal?

 

UC 12

This is an interesting aspect. I am working in this domain and would be willing to contribute if this helps. My company built this system http://autoweek.com/article/car-news/porsche-918-infotainment-system-be-based-html5 as an HTML5 head unit.

 

UC 13

I did not get the story behind it. Maybe, I do not have sufficient background knowledge.

 

UC 14

I do not understand the relation to second screen. Can you elaborate on this?
