EMMA is published as a Candidate Recommendation

I am pleased to announce that the Multimodal Interaction Working Group has
published the Candidate Recommendation of EMMA: Extensible MultiModal
Annotation markup language (http://www.w3.org/TR/emma/). EMMA is a data
exchange format for the interface between input processors and interaction
management systems within the Multimodal Architecture and Interfaces, and
defines the means to annotate application specific data with information
such as confidence scores, time stamps, input mode, alternative recognition
hypotheses, and partial recognition results.

The W3C invites reports on implementations of EMMA. Information on
submitting an implementation report is provided in the EMMA Candidate
Recommendation specification. Implementation feedback is welcome through 14
April 2008.

best regards,

Debbie Dahl
W3C Multimodal Interaction Working Group Chair
