Submission of SALT 1.0 specification to the Multimodal Interactio n Working Group

I am very pleased to announce that the SALT Forum has submitted the
SALT 1.0 specification to the W3C Multimodal Interaction Working Group
for consideration with regards to future W3C standards for multimodal
interaction. The SALT specification is very relevant to the working
group's goals and we are looking forward to exploring the ideas
described in the submission. As an initial step, we plan to review the
submission carefully with respect to the requirements we are currently
developing for multimodal standards.

Because the SALT 1.0 specification is also being submitted to the W3C
Voice Browser Working Group, we intend to work closely with that
group to coordinate both groups' efforts with respect to SALT.
