Basic XHTML is the point of convergence that allows HDML -> WML 1.2 (XML compliant) content converge with the Compact HTML ->imode (HTML 2.0+ subset) applicaions. XHTML has all the benefits of being XML based and all the legacy mindset behind HTML as the lingua franca of the web. WML has some additional roundtrip saving features, but that is most likely a temporary advantage in today's marketplace. $.02 > Date: Mon, 06 Mar 2000 17:19:22 +0000 > From: Sandeep Hundal <sunny@bluecarrots.com> > To: dcb@white-mountains.net > CC: Masayasu Ishikawa <mimasa@w3.org>, www-mobile@w3.org > Subject: Re: WAP Competitors ? > > Hah hah !! > > MY sentiments exactly... seems that every vendor has decided to put in > their own extensions to HTML and decided to call it something else... > > is there any sort of convergence happening ??
