For #555 Add <a> to spec <https://github.com/w3c/mathml/issues/555> Dc
commented "<a> is added to mathml4" and closed the issue.

*ACTION:* For #560 mathvariant attribute enumeration is missing chancery
and roundhand <https://github.com/w3c/mathml/issues/560> DC will add these
two to the spec.

For #561 Broken links in Mathematical Markup Language (MathML) Version 4.0
<https://github.com/w3c/mathml/issues/561> When we added <a> to the spec,
the links are no longer broken. This issue was closed.

*ACTION:* DC will get to #559 processContents="skip" for other attributes
of common MathML elements <https://github.com/w3c/mathml/issues/559> later.

#178 Make MathML attributes ASCII case-insensitive
<https://github.com/w3c/mathml/issues/178> DG had closed this.

#535 Remove alignmentscope from MathML 4
<https://github.com/w3c/mathml/issues/535> DC had closed this.

Topics for core meeting on Monday?

For #120 Remove/deprecate/simplify the ms element
<https://github.com/w3c/mathml/issues/120> NS wrote "Make the polyfill
target <mtext> and that way we avoid problems as what core does with <ms>."
NS added "need polyfill issues requiring implementation changes"

DC discussed section B3 where finding the correct character to produce
accents is considered.

#70 U+002D HYPHEN-MINUS in <mo> operators
<https://github.com/w3c/mathml-core/issues/70> U+002D HYPHEN-MINUS is too
short, so MathML browser implementations render it as U+2212 MINUS SIGN.

You need to use the Unicode minus, and not the ASCII minus, to work.

*ACTION:* #183 mpadded and percentages
<https://github.com/w3c/mathml-core/issues/183> Consider closing this issue
in the next core meeting.

MoS: There has been a performance review of MathJax. It is too big. And so
they suggested some changes, and I had only very limited time, and I
implemented most of it, and there's no really serious issues. The core spec
does not have to change.

Summary

The meeting focused on reviewing and updating various MathML specifications
and addressing ongoing issues. David and Neil discussed several open
issues, including the addition of new math variants to MathML 4, broken
links, and schema problems. They agreed to close or update several issues,
including adding roundhand and chancery variants to the spec. The group
also discussed upcoming agenda items for the core meeting, including minus
signs and math strings. Patrick volunteered to proofread parts of the
specification, while Louis and Deyan agreed to review specific sections.
Moritz provided an update on Wikimedia's performance review of MathJax,
noting some implementation issues but no core specification concerns. The
conversation ended with Neil confirming the process for horizontal reviews
with Bert.

Respec Issues

The team discussed technical issues with the respec GitHub Action, which
experienced timeouts and detection errors. David mentioned he would force
another rebuild to address the problems. Patrick volunteered to help with
proofreading, and David suggested using the chat feature for feedback. Neil
also noted he had not yet sent out information about the horizontal review,
which he intended to address in the coming days.
<https://cryptpad.fr/#cp-md-0-firefox-beta-to-stable-release>Firefox Beta
to Stable Release

The team discussed Firefox updates, with David announcing that the current
beta will become the stable release on February 24th, including MathML
tagged PDF support. The team also learned that Brian Kardell has been
promoted to the Technical Architecture Group at W3C.
<https://cryptpad.fr/#cp-md-0-mathml4-pull-request-review>MathML4 Pull
Request Review

The team reviewed several pull requests and issues, closing some and
discussing others. They agreed to add two math variants (Roundhand and
Chancery) to MathML4. David suggested using MTEX in the polyfill to handle
MS element issues. The team discussed minus signs in core, with David
noting that hyphen-minus is not specified in the core spec. Moritz reported
on Wikimedia's performance review of MathJax, which found it too large but
noted no serious rendering issues. The team agreed to have volunteers
proofread the specs, with Patrick volunteering to read the whole document
and Deyan agreeing to review Chapter 5 on intent.
