Mathematics-enhanced Dialogues with AI Chatbots

MathML Community,

Hello. I was recently impressed by a demo video ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rnIgnS8Susg ) which showcases technologies including GPT-4-powered mathematics tutoring.

Modern chatbot SDKs are multi-channel and support dialogues between AI systems and end-users utilizing: Microsoft Teams, Direct Line, Web Chat, Skype, Email, Facebook, Slack, Kik, Telegram, Line, GroupMe, Twilio, Alexa Skills, Google Actions, Google Hangouts, WebEx, WhatsApp, Zoom, RingCentral, Cortana, and Console.

I, for one, am eager to see more complex mathematics (e.g., using MathML) in dialogues between AI systems and end-users.

GPT-4 is new. I am still reading about it and its documented features. Perhaps it can consume and produce more complex mathematics in images? Perhaps it can consume and produce handwriting (e.g., InkML)? Perhaps it can consume and produce LaTeX or MathML?

Does anyone know of any initiatives with respect to enhancing communication channels with mathematics, e.g., MathML, support? Does anyone know whether GPT-4 or other modern AI systems can process inputs and produce outputs with more complex mathematics, e.g., MathML content? I'm generally interested in means by which students and AI tutors can communicate using mathematics-enhanced natural language.

Best regards,
Adam Sobieski
