It can be configurable and/or system specific but it wouldn't hurt if we suggested some defaults, but note most of these tricky cases are already in plain non-math text so it's not as if we are specifying anything a screen reader does not already do. We don't need to tell AT not to read t as LATIN SMALL LETTER T but we do need to be careful not to specify that it must do that (if we were to specify the default reading of characters are (exactly) their Unicode names).
