Announcements/Updates NS: Pinged ARIA for a meeting (https://github.com/w3c/aria/issues/1723) -- no response yet. We are trying to get agreement on how intent will interact with ARIA. NS: Some discussion about WPT in docs for core -- should we add optional MathML Full tests? DC: No. It is hard to get people to implement core. They will never implement the full spec. DC: Opened issue: policy for images in MathML4 drafts <https://github.com/w3c/mathml/issues/334> DC: In MathML 3, we had images for all the MathML examples. Do we want to drop the images in spec 4, and just depend on rendering the MathML? DC: This would work for Firefox. Chrome does not render well. DC: Do we want to show an imperfect rendering, or just show images? You should not need images to show MathML on the web. NS: Should we put polyfills in the recommendation version? DC: Drop the images and use rendering only. NS: Core does not use live MathML examples. It wants to show people how MathML should look on all browsers; therefore, perhaps we should store the images. PI: Will polyfills be used in the final version? NS: That's still up in the air. DC: does not want images. No one has opinions so NS and DC will talk to each other about leaving inline MathML in the document for image generation. <https://sandbox.cryptpad.info/code/inner.html?ver=4.14.1-00#cp-md-0-2-resolve-a-href-https-github-com-w3c-mathml-pull-325-current-pr-for-chapter-4-a-a-href-https-davidcarlisle-github-io-mathml-view-the-changes-here-a-see-chapter-4-and-appendices-f-and-g->2. Resolve current PR for Chapter 4 <https://github.com/w3c/mathml/pull/325>. View the changes here <https://davidcarlisle.github.io/mathml/>. See Chapter 4 and Appendices F and G. Note: this is about the structural change. Example folding and other formatting details have yet to be addressed BM: emailed that he would like to merge everything and edit the result. DC's work will not interfere with SD's work. NS: Who objects to merging. No one. We should just move forward and merge it. DC: cannot proceed until the work is merged. SD: agrees. MUS and PI agree. Consensus: merge DC's branch. <https://sandbox.cryptpad.info/code/inner.html?ver=4.14.1-00#cp-md-0-3-timeline-for-fpwd->3. Timeline for FPWD? NS: We have made progress on MathML 4. NS: hopes that he can finish chapter 3 in two weeks. NS: thinks we can do an FPWD in approximately two months. DC: says we must do more work on the intent grammar. He says chapter five needs more work. He is not sure we can agree on the grammar in two months. NS: Intent is a simple concept. DC: We do not say anything about how to implement the various levels for intent. Intent is used to direct (suggest), to AT, how things should be spoken. NS: We can say that user agents can do what they want, or they can pay attention to intent. NS: Chapter 5 needs more work. DC: Once we agree on intent, we can ship the recommendation. DC: Appendix D, on accessibility, is empty. This is SN's section. NS: We need to say something about internationalization. NS: Appendix B needs work. It is on Media Types Registrations. PI: We need a media type registration discussion in this area. DC: We cannot allow ourselves to get buried in an intent discussion. *ACTION* NS: will create an issue listing the things that need to be done before the FPWD.
