While the Soft4Science applications look promising, the company is impossible to deal with. We recently purchased a commercial license to one of Bernard Kiehl's products. It failed to run in our production environment despite the proper configuration of the software and the license file provided by Soft4Science. Everything looked good in development and no code changes were made when we deployed to our live site. Despite repeated requests and detailed documentation of the issue (and I do mean detailed - very detailed) Bernard acknowledged the bugs in his software but absolutely refused to do anything to address the issues. We worked for 2 weeks trying to identify the issue providing Bernard with sample code, example output, we tried deploying the solution as a web service as opposed to being directly integrated in our application and in the end he ignored every request refusing to fix the issue or to even provide helpful suggestions as to the root of the problem. As a commercial software vendor Soft4Science is impossible to work with. We were forced to seek a refund. Buyer beware! Andrew Lippert VP Engineering Apex Learning
