Reducing the SPAM content of this newsgroup

Hi All,

Why has this news group got so many junk messages ?
The limit has to be the "great deer pic" message  at 83kb. 

Don't the idiots who are sending such SPAM realise that
many people pay real money for internet access and the 
privilege of subscribing to groups such as this one, and
cannot really afford - either timewise or moneywise - such 
a high level of trash.

Is there anything that can be done to reduce the enormous SPAM
content of this group. It is by far the worst of any I subscribe to !
