Evidently with this round of automake fun, several folks have run across
it. I took the advise from Ralf Wildenhues [1] and simply ran
libtoolize and checked back in the generated files,

    Checking in config/config.guess;
    /sources/public/libwww/config/config.guess,v  <--  config.guess
    new revision: 1.12; previous revision: 1.11
    done
    Checking in config/config.sub;
    /sources/public/libwww/config/config.sub,v  <--  config.sub
    new revision: 1.11; previous revision: 1.10
    done
    Checking in config/ltmain.sh;
    /sources/public/libwww/config/ltmain.sh,v  <--  ltmain.sh
    new revision: 1.12; previous revision: 1.11
    done

Along with this old way / new way issue, does anyone have an opinion on
whether to modify the ssl.h inclusion to be openssl/ssl.h [2] ???

more,
