Help in Win2000 libwww--with ssl

Hi,
    I am trying to compile libwww(pre-5.3.0) with ssl under win2000 by
using cygwin environment and I was not able to make it through
configure.
    It's looking for openssl library which I installed under
/usr/local/ssl/lib
    I don't know what it is looking for.  I have installed libssl.a and
libcrypto.a
in the directory.
    Does anyone can help me with it?
