follow up 1/2: pipelining support Jigsaw-Mozilla

Hello,

It seems that people can not open the ZIP files I had included in my
previous mail.
It is just two txt files that have been zipped with Winzip 8.1.

I have included (retry) the summary file (same Winzip util) that has been
produced with Ethereal network analyser.
The detailed results shall follow in a separate mail due to mail size
restrictions on our server

However I did get Mozilla to pipeline on a straight Internet access to
www.cisco.com ( detailed results shown below)

I am still wondering why the combination Mozilla - Jigsaw did not produce
something similar. So if anyone can elucidate this please?

Subject: pipelining support Jigsaw-Mozilla

Hi,

We have been testing pipelining on Jigsaw 2.2.2 (Windows ME platform) in
combination with Mozilla 1.2.1/5.0 (Windows 95 platform). Both products
claim to support pipelining, but we have not been able to get this working.
The set-up we used was plain simple: just a cross cable between server and
client. We have enabled the checkboxes http1.1 support and pipelining in
Mozilla. Ripped a site from the internet with a lot of pics in it
(http://developer.skolelinux.no/~herman/tc/pipelining/) and put this page on
the Jigsaw server. Attached is a trace file that shows that NO
subsequent/clustered requests on the same TCP connection are performed. Only
keep-alive connections that allow for a repeating request-response scheme
are made.

Are we forgetting something? Maybe a configuration option in Jigsaw? Could
it be some missing HTML syntax that needs to be interpreted by the client
to be sure of server support for pipelining?
Can anyone help us in this area?

Thanks in advance,

T. Amory
