Jigadmin authentication problems from Gary Coppeler on 2002-02-14 (www-jigsaw@w3.org from January to February 2002)

Hi all,

   I have gotten Jigsaw to install correctly, but am unable to access the
Jigsaw Administration page running on the default port of 8009.  When I go
to that page I get the login box that prompts for my username and password.
If I give it the default of admin/admin all I get is a page with the error:

   501/505 Not implemented or not supported

   I am connecting remotely to the box, so maybe that is the problem?  I
don't have the capability to display remotely, so that could be the issue
(i.e. I'm connecting in to http://www.server.com:8009 as opposed to running
jigadmin from http://localhost:8009).

   FYI...I am running the server on a Linux box running RedHat 7.1 with JDK
1.3.1_02.  I'm trying to connect from a Windows machine with IE running
Windows 2000.

   If I try to connect with Netscape I get "Method GET not implemented".

   If I try to connect with IE running on a Mac I get "Method GET not
implemented".

   Any help would be greatly appreciated.
