Jigsaw benchmark performance?

Hi,
a fellow I respect greatly, Jef Poskanzer,
is looking at server performance; you can
see his results graphed at
http://www.acme.com/software/thttpd/benchmarks.html

Jigsaw did not fare well in his tests- 
it couldn't even complete the benchmark.
Could some Jigsaw boffin take on the challenge
of making Jigsaw handle Jef's test (serving
1000 random 1 kilobyte files)?
