The CSS WG has published an updated Working Draft of the CSS Inline Layout Module Level 3: https://www.w3.org/TR/css-inline-3/ This module defines inline layout and the sizing of line boxes, and introduces a special layout mode for drop-caps. Interesting changes since the previous WD include: * Adding a 'leading' value to 'initial-letter-align' to handle drop-cap behavior for certain Indic scripts such as Tamil. (i18n review requested) https://github.com/w3c/csswg-drafts/issues/864 https://www.w3.org/TR/2020/WD-css-inline-3-20200827/#valdef-initial-letter-align-leading * Dropping 'hebrew' from 'initial-letter-align' rather than treating it as a placeholder for the general issue of missing writing systems https://github.com/w3c/csswg-drafts/issues/5244 * Various adjustments to initial letter layout. All significant changes are listed at: https://www.w3.org/TR/2020/WD-css-inline-3-20200827/#changes Please review the draft, and send any comments to the CSSWG mailing list, <www-style@w3.org>, prefixed with [css-inline-3] (as I did on this message) or (preferably) file them in the GitHub repository at https://github.com/w3c/csswg-drafts/issues For the CSS WG, ~fantasai
