since we moved our publications to github we have been experimenting with the level of notification that is appropriate for this list. Currently the list is notified about pretty much everything, including every comment that is added to an issue on github. recently a couple of people have said that they are receiving too much email this way, so we are exploring alternatives. note that there are two sources of github messages: 1. changes to the repository for one of the i18n documents, such as charmod, but also including clreq, and other layout task forces 2. comments from the github issues of other groups when we have sent review comments, or we want to track something. PROPOSALS For [1] above, here is a proposal: a. notify www-internationalh when a new issue is raised: give a url pointing to the issue in the notification email and allow people interested to subscribe individually via the github client b. notify when the issue is closed, but not every comment c. manually notify the list when a doc is published to TR (ie. substantive changes) with a link to the commit page for that repo so you can check diffs; otherwise no notifications, eg. for commits, etc. For [2] above no change, since this is equivalent to our old practice (it's just that the emails are originating from github, rather than an email client or bugzilla) thoughts? ri
