Writing Modes

    People have had 3 days to raise objections and comments, and
    none have been forthcoming. No-one on the call has anything to
    add, other than to support the comment about the use of the
    term 'character'.

    Therefore Richard will send the comments on to the CSS WG.

    norbert: seems harmless enough

    norbert: Ecma TC39 meeting this week in West Coast
    ... Anne is also here so I'll discuss the byte-string issue
    with him

Counter-styles

    The CSS Counter Styles spec is now in Last Call, and Richard
    has been reviewing it, and has been creating new tests for the
    i18n parts. He will announce the tests and results on the list
    when ready.

    Our First Public Working Draft, Predefined Counter Styles,
    should be published today.

    Richard has also developed a small tool for generating numbers
    using the algorithms described in the counter-style draft.
