Dear Internationalization Experts, I'm very glad to be able to announce the formation of the Indic Layout Task Force. You can find the Home Page of the Indic Layout Task Force at [1] and the charter at [2]. Similar to the very successful Japanese Layout Task Force [3], the Indic Layout Task Force will provide input to W3C activities related to Indic Languages and Layout. The chair of the Task Force is Swaran Lata, the Staff Contact is Richard Ishida, the contact person at the Indian Office of W3C is Somnath Chandra. I would like to thank all of them again for all their hard work up to the launch of this Task Force. In order to participate in, or follow, the work of the Task Force, please subscribe [4] to the mailing list [5] of the Task Force. You therewith also become a member of the Internationalization Interest Group [6]. With kind regards, Martin Dürst, W3C Internationalization Interest Group Chair.
