I18N-ISSUE-237: Preserve space and styling [ITS-20] http://www.w3.org/International/track/issues/237 Raised by: Richard Ishida On product: ITS-20 I'm not sure about this, but I'm wondering whether the preserve space data category could have some relationship to HTML. I believe that you can style the content of an element to handle whitespace differently from the default. Would it not then be useful to be able to identify those same elements as using preserve space behaviour for when the content is passed, say, to a translation tool, or stored as plain text? If this is a viable use case, it may indicate that some additional values are needed for the space attribute, eg. pre | nowrap | pre-wrap | pre-line. (Must admit I need to check what the last two do.)
