Hello Web Notifications, The Internationalization Core WG has tasked me with following up on our comments [1]. This marks the first of three notes I'll be sending you, since we are trying to disentangle our commentary for better tracking. Regarding I18N-ISSUE-161, which asked: > 161: Notifications have no way to identify the language of their user-visible text > (title and body). Knowledge about the language is often necessary for the user > agent to select the right font or to pronounce the text correctly - see > http://www.w3.org/International/questions/qa-lang-why The Working Group would like you to add the language attribute to the title and body elements as requested. We feel that the accessibility argument raised in Artur Ortega's note [2] by itself justifies this, although international considerations on their own provide justification in our opinion. In response to questions raised in this thread, the working group is updating or preparing new guidelines about content metadata that will be a better reference for spec developers going forwards.
