FYI # 24 Aug 2003 "Character Model for the World Wide Web 1.0" Interim Working Draft Published The Internationalization Working Group has released an interim Working Draft of the Character Model for the World Wide Web 1.0. The document addresses character encoding identification, early uniform normalization, string identity matching, string indexing, and URI conventions, building on the Universal Character Set defined by Unicode and ISO/IEC 10646. This paper provides an introduction to the major Indic scripts used on the Indian mainland.
