Dear workshop participants, A rough program of the workshop is now available at: http://www.w3.org/2002/02/01-i18n-workshop/program.html A text copy is also attached below. IMPORTANT: Please note that we start with breakfast at 8:00, and with the actual workshop at *** 8:30 ***, half an hour earlier than originally planned. On the other hand, we have scheduled the end of the workshop for 17:00 (5pm). This is mainly because we are afraid that some of you might need to leave early. We are separately contacting people whom we will ask for a 10-minute talk. Even if you don't get contacted, please make sure that you are ready to briefly present your issue(s), e.g. in 2 to 3 minutes. With help from Richard Ishida, all position statements have now been published. Please have a look at http://www.w3.org/2002/02/01-i18n-workshop/participants.html. (If you can't see 32 position statements, please make sure to refresh.) Please check your own position statement if you haven't already done so (and send me corrections if necessary). Much more importantly, please read ALL the position statements in the remaining time up to the workshop. This should actually not take too long. Because it is only a one-day workshop, we need everybody to be well prepared in order not to lose productive time. If you have any questions you want to ask of any of the other participants, about their statement or otherwise, please do so on this mailing list, so that we can start to get the discussion going in advance of the workshop. When reading the position statements, please think in particular about the following issues: - Should the W3C work on this issue (as opposed to somebody else)? Why, or why not? What would make the W3C in particular suited to doing the job? - How much effort would a solution need? - How and to what extent would you and/or your employer be ready to contribute to the work? If you have any other suggestions, please feel free to send them to the list or to me at any time. Regards, Martin. ----------------------------------------------------- Internationalization Workshop, Friday 1 February 2002 Location: Hampton Room (L210, East side) Omni Shoreham Hotel (Tel: +1 202 234 0700, Woodley Park Metro Station, red line) 2500 Calvert Street, NW, Washington, DC 20008, USA Schedule: 08:00-08:30 Breakfast 08:30-09:30 Introduction of the workshop and the participants 09:30-10:30 Focus talks (10 minutes each) with short discussions (10 minutes each) 10:30-10:50 Coffee break 10:50-11:30 Focus talks (10 minutes each) with short discussions (10 minutes each) 11:30-12:10 Short introductions to additional topics (3 minutes each) 12:10-13:00 Lunch 13:00-15:45 In-depth discussion of issues identified in the morning 14:45-15:00 Coffee break 15:00-16:00 In-depth discussion (continued) 16:00-17:00 Summary/conclusions
