I think you're proposing opening up this list to other kind of discussions.
Sorry, there are other lists and newsgroups already dedicated to this. 
For example, at W3C, we have www-talk. There are many other lists cited or
hosted at the HWG site.

By joining this list (www-html@w3.org), you accept to adhere to its charter.
If the charter is wrong, we should then close the list and try another one.
I think that the list covers the charter most of the time.

One solution could be our closing down of this list and opening a new one,
called something like www-html-evolution (or something similar), that
reflects closer the charter. If subscribers to this list want this, just
send me your vote.

I don't think we need to continue this discussion on the list. Feel free
to mail me in private or other people. We can then post a synthesis of our
talks. Not everyone is interested in this discussion.
