This thread makes me curious as to the "future of image maps." Does anyone
know what's happening with them in the WG? Can we expect something
"revolutionary" like png's whose translucency values dynamically grow or
decay according to an onmouseover event, since both HTML and PNG are
standards run by w3c? Or is this the stuff of science fiction and
non-standard plugins?
